KITES (Kindergarten Integrated Thematic Educational Support)

KITES help your child improve mobility and coordination.
We support your baby as he or she rolls from side-to-side and learns to stand, and walk; support the development of motor skills with blocks and shape boards; and meet your child's individual needs for rest and nutrition.

Education and development are important, but we know that nothing matters more than the safety, security and health of your child. That’s why protection and preparedness are critical considerations in everything we do at KITES.

We assess every child’s health by talking with parents and monitoring for symptoms during the course of each child’s day with us; we increase assessment during flu seasons.

We notify parents when a child does not feel well to help prevent an illness from spreading.

KITES prepare your child to think and reason. We help your child explore the concepts of cause-and-effect, trial-and-error, and object permanence through play; provide a variety of materials of different colors, sizes, textures, and shapes; and encourage the use of all five senses to discover the world.

KITES lay the foundation for your CHILD to develop trusting relationships.

We respond to your baby with sensitivity and attention; use words, facial expressions, and eye contact to communicate; and use family photos to promote self-awareness and provide continuity with your child's home.

KITES help your infant improve mobility and coordination. We encourage your child to express individuality.

We provide paints, crayons, and other tools that promote artistic exploration and creativity; support imaginative play with photo cards and puppets; and encourage self-expression through movement and music ETC.

KITES helps your infant / toddler learn to engage with others.

We talk with your child; communicate verbally and through non-verbal gestures; tell stories and sing songs to model conversational skills; and use picture books to build association between sounds, objects and words.

KITES – AUTHORISATION

Only pre-approved people with photo identification may pick-up your child.
All perishable food is refrigerated. Our menu is planned so your child eats nutritious foods.

KITES – SECURITY

Our centres are secured so that only authorized staff and families may enter. Safe, secure perimeters ensure that children can enjoy outdoor play safely.

KITES – FIRST AID/MEDICATION
We have strict policies for administering medication to your child to ensure they are protected.

Based on new research about healthy practices for infants and toddlers, we require a doctor’s note for any medication, prescription or over the counter, given to a child under 2 years to ensure safety.

FIRST AID / Medications are stored securely out of the reach of children.

Things to know:
 We clean our centres each day with safe, non-toxic cleaning products.
 Our floors are cleaned by greatest cleaning vendors.
 Cleaning supplies are locked safely out of reach of children.
 While other child care providers clean toys each evening,
 KITES sanitize toys throughout the day to help prevent the spread of germs.
 Diapering is conducted in an area separate from children’s play areas.

We encourage children to wash their hands throughout the day by singing songs and teaching lessons about health and hygiene.
