About

I studied to become a photojournalist whilst doing my National service and started my professional photographic career in late 80’s at the Beeld Newspaper as a press photographer.

Over the next couple of years I freelanced as a photojournalist focussing on the photography aspects for various local and international publications like the The New York times, The Star, Citizen, Sunday Times, You/Huisgenoot to name a few. I have also had the priviledge of working with artists like Johannes Kerkorrel & Stef Bos on their first collaborative work as well as Dr Alban on his international tour.

My love for travel, advertising and public relations led me to investigate and develop myself whilst broadening my horizons. I became the Advertising/Marketing Manager for an International corporate based in Johannesurg focussing on developing the company’s corporate brand identity and developing a sustainable marketing strategy.
Biography

My passion for writing poetry & photography gave birth to establishing a united platform where all SA artists can unite and work together (a FreeStyle dream that started in the mid ‘80s). I founded FreeStyle – Your Voice in SA Arts in 2010, a web based arts company for the development and collaboration of SA artists www.free-style.co.za

In-between working fulltime and starting FreeStyle I also started worldinmyLENS photography and this is where we are now 2 years later.
