I am a prospective college student and lover of sports whose goals might be as ambitious as they are painstaking. In the interim and in conjunction with my academic interests, I am looking for a job in order to prepare myself for certification as either a personal trainer, physical therapist, or strength and conditioning coach. My previous experience in the athletic arena has been playing high school football and track and field as well as college football; since graduation, I have sporadically volunteered in some fundraisers and marathon races, including the Peachtree Road Race. My previous professional experience has been in the restaurant business working as a server, customer service representative, and as a part-time quality control manager dealing with inventory.

My intermediate and long-term goals include the following:

•completing my certification first in CPR/First Aid and AED, then as an NFPT- and ACSM-certified personal trainer and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and eventually as an SCCC recipient from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association;

•finishing my college football career while receiving both my Bachelor’s degree (in both Exercise Science and Mathematics) and my first Master’s degree in Sports Science (I am considering a second Master’s in Mathematics and a Doctorate’s degree in Sports Science);

•writing and blogging about my studies on sports, science, religion, and philosophy—and eventually publishing an anthology on said categories;

•becoming Six Sigma black belt-certified;

•making an NFL roster and enjoying a lengthy, All-Pro career;

•launching a for-profit investment portfolio business for amateur and student-athletes (also applicable to athletic administrations and departments); and

•launching a non-profit endeavor promoting scientific and numerical literacy in downtrodden areas
